The reason I want to write you this card is to thank you for all you’ve done for me, during this journey in my life. But now that I’ve started to write about my gratitude, I realize that I can’t really think of words that are sufficient to convey my thankfulness. This time has been so scary for me, and your compassion and kindness toward me has been so reassuring and soothing. I can’t even tell you how much it’s meant to me. The patience and good humor you displayed in reading my letters prior to my surgery….Obviously, I have control issues! Even though I’m the patient, and you are the doctor, you always make me feel that I’m part of the team. I’m sure that in this career of yours you have come to grasp an understanding of what a woman’s breasts can mean to her; they are a somewhat sacred part of her body and self. I don’t think I even understood this until I was faced with having mine removed, due to cancer. The option of reconstruction has been one beacon of hope; the only lighthouse guiding me to a port, while I weather this storm. It’s been rough, but to carry the metaphor forward, my ship is strong, and I thank God for your light! I know I’ll be stronger at the end of all this. But what would I have done without you and your staff? I don’t know. Considering I’m having my hysterectomy next week it’s been one assault after another on my womanhood! Because of you, I know I can look forward to a future, where I’ll be having some sense of my female identity restored to me. And someday this crisis will be over, and I can help others who face the same kind of storms.
I just want you to know how pleased I am with the results of my surgery you performed in June. The results far exceed my expectations, even while I’m healing! Not only are you extremely professional, but you are caring and reassuring. I had given up hope that I would be “normal” again after the birth of my second child. You have given me a new lease on life and have restored my confidence. Your staff is wonderful and helped to add to my positive experience. Thank you again!
Words seem inadequate to express my gratitude (and amazement!) for what you have done for me. It’s been a long journey, and it takes even longer for esteem and body image to catch up with the physical changes. Thank you for being such a compassionate surgeon. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to learn from Dr. Lin! Dr. Lin presented all the materials and answered all my questions very clearly, and I especially loved the surgery videos which are very well-presented and to me felt like I was watching the live surgery. I truly learned a whole lot from the course, from the fundamentals of plastic surgery to the most interesting novel techniques and I feel like this course not only opened my eyes but also set me on my path as an aspiring plastic surgeon. It’s certainly been a very exciting month of learning and I really hope to delve deeper into plastic surgery in the future!
As a medical student with long-standing nasal congestion, I was wary about getting a procedure done before trying medications first. I did not find too much relief from the nasal sprays and eventually sought Dr. Lin out from a trusted referral. His office was organized and usually very responsive, and I went to see him for 2 visits before the surgery itself. I appreciated Dr. Lin’s bedside manner and he did not push any particular procedure on me before I made my own decision. I eventually decided to get surgery at BIDMC with Dr. Lin, and my patient care experience was as smooth as possible. I am now finished with the recovery period, and am so happy that I decided to go through the process! I had an anatomical problem that only surgery could fix, and I am thankful to Dr. Lin for guiding me through a stressful and time-sensitive journey!
After being treated extremely well by Dr. Lin and his staff at BIDMC, I highly recommend anyone considering to have a breast reduction. After having 4 children and dealing with chronic neck and back pain, I decided to have the surgery. Dr. Lin and his staff from the beginning have been very informative and attentive to any of my concerns and needs. I could have not picked a better surgeon and a better team to care for me. I can say with the biggest smile on my face since the surgery I have no neck pain and no back pain, but also that I have better self esteem because not only am I able to do more but that my shirts fit better and I look better as well. Dr. Lin is the best. After going to Beth Israel’s Cancer Center, I was referred to Dr. Lin and spoke with them (was a scary time of course ) . Everyone from 2 employees at the desk including Stacy these days, to nurses & physician’s assistants, ” everyone” has treated me so well. And kept me calm. All of the staff there is very polite. They were great to answer all my questions, results of surgeries were really great. This is a supportive team that I visit once a year – for 5 years – and it is this team I praise so much who helps me move forward. Thank you Dr. Lin and all your colleagues, TRUST in your doctors – he’s at Beth Israel Deaconess – an amazing medical center !
My experience with Dr. Lin’s plastic surgery virtual telehealth rotation has been invaluable. I had an amazing time learning from Dr. Lin who, from day 1, showed impeccable professionalism and an eager enthusiasm towards teaching. I found myself at ease with Dr. Lin and learned a great deal of plastic surgery. The course, in fact, not only lays a solid foundation on the principles of reconstructive surgery but also dives deep into the vast subfields of burn, craniofacial, head and neck, hand and lower extremity, breast, aesthetic and gender affirmation surgery. I cannot stress enough how this rotation shaped me into a better, well-rounded physician and how grateful I am for the precious time spent with Dr. Lin. I believe this experience was crucial in leading me towards pursuing plastic surgery as my residency choice and I now consider myself even more determined to match into this fascinating field. I will look up to Dr. Lin as an example for my future career. It is once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from such talented and yet humble plastic surgeon as Dr. Lin and I would highly suggest it to my fellow colleagues.
I had a breast reduction surgery done by Dr. Lin and I am absolutely thrilled with the results! Having surgery scheduled during a pandemic was concerning but the office was great with communication and reassuring all of their safety practices. His support staff is very easy to deal with and very friendly. They made me feel so comfortable in my decision by always answering any questions or concerns I had. They all go above and beyond for their patients. They even worked with my insurance to get the approval after it was rejected. I highly recommend Dr. Lin and his team for any of your surgical needs, he is experienced and definitely knows what he is doing

Dr. Lin made my plastic surgery rotation enjoyable. I love his consistency and dedication to his chosen field – a great inspiration to my young self. During my rotation, our meeting time was at 10:00pm EST due to the different time zones, Monday-Friday. Dr. Lin was always on time and answered all our questions. He is a great teacher!
