Testimonials and Reviews

I am very pleased with the results of my procedure with Dr. Lin. From the very start, he answered all of my questions and was easy to communicate with. I felt very comfortable and safe in his hands, and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional, kind, and warm doctor.

I had Dr. Lin for two different cosmetic procedures and I would whole heartedly recommend him to anyone who is looking into getting cosmetics done. From the very beginning it was an incredible experience. He was always very helpful and patient in answering all the questions I asked him (there was over 30!) and he is great at making you feel comfortable and heard. One of the things I loved about him is he doesn’t sugarcoat things to you and explains everything in as many different ways as you need so you fully understand everything. He gives you the best advice so that you may have the best possible outcomes. He checks in with you many times before surgery to make sure you are feeling good about your decision and is always reachable to you. The day of surgery went so smoothly. He has the very best team that takes care of everything from the IVs to placing the marks so that you are the least stressed as possible. I had no complications and I am in love with the results. I am in awe everyday with my new body and it is all thanks to Dr. Lin!

I am writing this letter as a follow up to my daughter, Angela’s, Rhinoplasty and deviated septum surgery in August. Knowing that you have so many patients, I will try to familiarize you with her situation. She had, at this point in time, just completed her freshman year in college and was about to transfer to San Francisco. She came to you primarily to have nose surgery. As a parent, I always believed that my daughter was a beautiful young woman. However, my husband and I supported her in her decision to have her nose “fixed”. She had a minor bump and had been the subject of bullying in high school and middle school because of her nose. As bright and as talented as my daughter was, her confidence in her appearance and in other aspects of her life had been compromised. She had a very successful surgery at your gifted hands. You were able to repair her deviated septum but, more importantly, you were able to shave down the bump and sculpt her nose. What a beautiful job! She just graduated, Cum-Laude, from college with a degree in Public Relations/Political Science. She is staying in San Francisco and has a job with a communications firm. I recently asked her what professor made the biggest impact on her college career and she quickly replied that, “It wasn’t a professor; it was Dr. Lin”. She went on to tell me in a mother/daughter conversation that Dr. Lin “made me realize that I wasn’t ugly”. This comment tugged at my heartstrings, but I wanted you to know that you were directly responsible for restoring her confidence in herself. We are very proud of her as she begins her career. She is a happy, vibrant, and accomplished young woman. You were a huge part of her success! Hope that all in well with you. Enclosed is a picture of her at her graduation. Thank you for your part in her happiness! Thank you so very much for your brilliant work!

I just wanted to extend my sincere thanks for the compassionate and skillful care you-and your team-have provided my spouse during her nose reconstruction. I have watched her regain her confidence, and spirit, with each healing day that passes. It is thanks to your skill that she did not have to go through the forehead flap procedure, and thanks to you that she is healing beautifully! Your caring and gentle nature transformed her nervousness and uncertainty into courage and confidence. Thank you for being who you are and doing what you do!

My visit to you on July 14 turned out to be bittersweet! I am thrilled at how well my nose healed – however, every time I visited your office it was a shot in the arm. You and your staff could not have been more supportive and encouraging. I will be forever grateful.

During my last two visits with you, there was so much for me to process with my new nose, that I never thanked you properly for all that you did. I could not be happier with the results. For the first time, I can breathe and the cosmetic outcome is perfection. You cannot see the suture line! Your work is impeccable. I am very grateful to you, and it will be a pleasure to recommend you to my friends and colleagues.

Dear Dr. Lin,
I really appreciate the time and effort you took into making my nose surgery a success. You made me feel so comfortable and I couldn’t be happier with my results! Thank you for helping me get my confidence back. You are truly an incredible doctor.

Thank you so much for the great work you did on my breast reduction. I can’t tell you how much happier (not to mention easier) my life is now, and I have you to thank. I have been recommending you to everyone who asks, and I will continue to do so. Keep up the great work!

When I took off the bandages and the surgical bra and looked in the mirror, for the first time since my mastectomy cancer was not looking back at me. Thank you so much. I am proud and always have been to be a cancer survivor. It is like a badge of honor that reminds me when I doubt myself I can do whatever I have to. However before the surgery I didn’t feel like I looked the same. Not only am I proud to say I am a breast cancer survivor, but I also thanks to you look better than I did before. May God bless you and your family. Please enjoy the cookies that my daughter and I made. Thanks again.

Just wanted to drop a quick line to tell you how grateful I am for your recently performed surgery. I feel fantastic, look awesome and only wish I had done it sooner. A-One service by all. Thank you so much. I am forever grateful.

I’m so grateful for all you’ve done for me this year – thank you. Merry Christmas!

This course with Dr.Lin was everything one can ask for. You learn so much in 4 weeks from all the readings and discussions during the course. The best part is the healthy learning environment that Dr.Lin provides has been the highlight of this course for me. He keeps checking up with you time to time if we are having any issues and is very warm and welcoming. I am so glad that I got this opportunity to learn from him.
Dr.Lin’s virtual rotation experience is beyond amazing. It is an extensive, well structured program. He is extremely empathetic and a great teacher
Being an aspiring plastic and reconstructive surgeon, rotating virtually with Dr. Lin was an amazing experience. I had the chance to explore many areas in plastic surgery including wound healing, burn and face, craniofacial, head and neck, hand and lower extremity, and breast and gender-affirming surgery. Dr. Lin was always available to answer questions, share his experiences, and engage with us in clinical case-based group discussions. He is also a great mentor and supporter. I’m definitely more confident with my knowledge in plastic surgery now!
Considering This All Started with Breast Cancer… I’m Now So Pleased! 18 Aug 2021 8 months post I was stunned when I learned I had breast cancer but as I recently told Dr Lin, he was the silver lining in that experience. He performed a breast reduction simultaneously with my lumpectomy and 8 months out, I feel great. Post op was uncomfortable but definitely manageable and never painful. Recovery has gone smoothly and as expected, and now my shoulders and back no longer ache, clothes fit better, and I feel more in proportion. Dr Lin’s calm and confident manner provided all the reassurance I needed, and he’s supported by a great staff, Brett, his PA, and Stacy are wonderful. I feel very fortunate that my cancer was detected at an early stage and equally fortunate that I had such a wonderful medical team guide me and help me through this journey. I thank them all, and I especially thank Dr Lin.
I couldn’t breathe through the left nostril for more than a decade. Even though I learned to live with it I always suspected that fixing my nose would improve my quality of life. Finally, in November 2020 I decided to have the first visit and have a professional look at my situation and see what could be done. I chose Dr. Lin because he came highly recommended by other patients, he is certified by two boards: plastic surgery and otorhinolaryngology and he actually specializes in noses. After preliminary visits I was able to meet him in March of 2021 and he recommended a procedure to fix my problem. As I understood it, it was a deviated septum that didn’t leave a large enough opening at the base of the nostril for the air to pass through. As a fix, the septum would be straightened out, a graft would be done to keep the opening large enough and the “glands” that clean and moisten the air passing through the nostril would be reduced. In July 2021 I had the procedure. Everything was done internally, there were no stitches on the outside. The shape of the nose was not altered at all. Two plastic inserts had been put into the nose that kept the septum aligned. These inserts were held in place by an internal stitch. The nose was discharging for several days, it was blood mixed with other fluids. You have to tape gauze to your upper lip to keep the discharge from dripping down. Pain was non-existent. I didn’t take any pain killers at all. There was some swelling like you got punched in the nose that went away after a few days. The worst part for me were the plastic inserts. They don’t allow you to breathe through your nose and they don’t allow you to smell anything. You have to breathe through your mouth when you sleep, when you talk, when you take a shower. It’s a real challenge! Second on the list of miseries is the inability to sneeze or blow your nose. You can feel all kinds of things built up in your nose but you can’t remove them. You can only moisten the nostrils by saline. If you sneeze, you have to open your mouth, so the sneeze goes through your throat and not your nose. And the last inconvenience is the inability to do exercise. You are not allowed to jog, can’t do free weights, can’t exercise in general. Also, can’t fly or dive. After a week the plastic inserts got removed and it felt much better! I was able to feel scents again and was able to breathe through the nose. After a month I was cleared for exercise. By that time, the nose healed and I was able to breathe using both nostrils. It does make a huge difference! I can take full breaths, I can sleep on both sides, I can do other things I forgot were possible. I know this next part can’t be true, but it feels like my brain is getting more oxygen with two nostrils breathing. In retrospect it was completely worth it. My only regret is that I walked around 10+ years with this condition and hadn’t had it fixed sooner. Dr. Lin is a great specialist, I would recommend him to anyone. His staff is also attentive and well trained. Without exaggeration, this was a life changing experience for me!
Dr. Lin is so talented and his staff is amazing, they’ve made my entire experience as smooth as possible. 8 weeks ago, I had a closed septorhinoplasty done to correct my deviated septum and fix some bumps I had always been insecure about. He knew exactly what I wanted and blew my expectations out of the water. Dr. Lin, you have not only helped me finally be able to breathe through my nose, but have also given me the confidence in my appearance I was lacking and I cannot thank you enough!
A compassionate doctor with outstanding skills ! Angela
I had a revision rhinoplasty after I was left unsatisfied with my primary rhinoplasty in 2013. I discovered Dr. Lin by reading reviews on google and Real Self. I decided if I were to endure this process again, I needed someone I could fully trust. After my initial consultation with Dr. Lin, I was 100% comfortable with him handling my revision. He was very informative, explaining precisely what went wrong during the primary operation, and providing a detailed, concise breakdown on what he wanted to accomplish during my revision. In March 2018, I finally had my revision. It went very smooth along with the recovery. I’m thrilled with the results and Dr. Lin was even generous enough to provide me with an minor in-office ‘touch up’ years after, free of charge. My new nose is fabulous, and my only regret is that I didn’t go to Dr.Lin initially. I lost many years in my 20s to depression caused by the botched results of my primary rhinoplasty and being hesitant to undergo a revision. I can’t recommend Dr. Lin enough to anyone looking for rhinoplasty. Please save yourself the time and heartache.
