The reason I want to write you this card is to thank you for all you’ve done for me, during this journey in my life. But now that I’ve started to write about my gratitude, I realize that I can’t really think of words that are sufficient to convey my thankfulness. This time has been so scary for me, and your compassion and kindness toward me has been so reassuring and soothing. I can’t even tell you how much it’s meant to me. The patience and good humor you displayed in reading my letters prior to my surgery….Obviously, I have control issues! Even though I’m the patient, and you are the doctor, you always make me feel that I’m part of the team. I’m sure that in this career of yours you have come to grasp an understanding of what a woman’s breasts can mean to her; they are a somewhat sacred part of her body and self. I don’t think I even understood this until I was faced with having mine removed, due to cancer. The option of reconstruction has been one beacon of hope; the only lighthouse guiding me to a port, while I weather this storm. It’s been rough, but to carry the metaphor forward, my ship is strong, and I thank God for your light! I know I’ll be stronger at the end of all this. But what would I have done without you and your staff? I don’t know. Considering I’m having my hysterectomy next week it’s been one assault after another on my womanhood! Because of you, I know I can look forward to a future, where I’ll be having some sense of my female identity restored to me. And someday this crisis will be over, and I can help others who face the same kind of storms.
I just want you to know how pleased I am with the results of my surgery you performed in June. The results far exceed my expectations, even while I’m healing! Not only are you extremely professional, but you are caring and reassuring. I had given up hope that I would be “normal” again after the birth of my second child. You have given me a new lease on life and have restored my confidence. Your staff is wonderful and helped to add to my positive experience. Thank you again!
Words seem inadequate to express my gratitude (and amazement!) for what you have done for me. It’s been a long journey, and it takes even longer for esteem and body image to catch up with the physical changes. Thank you for being such a compassionate surgeon. Your extraordinary skills and caring are a rare combination. I hope you can instill both in surgeons you are teaching.

I learned a lot during this four weeks rotation, this rotation helped me to understand fundamentals and much more in plastic surgery . Also, I truly enjoyed the videos with surgical techniques. The best rotation I have ever had and Dr Lin is both amazing and inspirational. The rotation was very well structured starting off with fundamentals and moving on to more advanced topics that require us to apply what we have learnt. This is a must do rotation for anyone who is considering Plastic Surgery as a career.
I had an amazing experience in virtual rotation at Harvard Plastic Surgery Integrated program. You have all the resources for a intensive month of study as videos, scientific articles, testings, lectures. I really recommend this for other medical students or medical graduated.
I recently had a cosmetic rhinoplasty and I am so happy with my results! I’m not very good at expressing/explaining myself but he was spot on with what I wanted. He made sure that we were going for the results I wanted. Dr.Lin went above and beyond ensuring that I felt safe and secured during the procedure. My surgery was Monday morning and what made me feel so secure was that he called me the night before the surgery making sure I was okay and if i had concerns or questions. I can honestly say that Dr. Lin is a very dedicated person and very knowledgeable. Him and his team are all excellent. I can’t thank him enough for all he’s done.
Dr Samual Lin corrected a lack of facial symmetry issue due to a poor result from plastic surgery. His expertise and skills provided facial symmetry and made me feel confident of my appearance. In addition he corrected a deviated septum which allows me to enjoy a good night sleep, which I am forever grateful.
