I am very pleased with the results of my procedure with Dr. Lin. From the very start, he answered all of my questions and was easy to communicate with. I felt very comfortable and safe in his hands, and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional, kind, and warm doctor.
I had Dr. Lin for two different cosmetic procedures and I would whole heartedly recommend him to anyone who is looking into getting cosmetics done. From the very beginning it was an incredible experience. He was always very helpful and patient in answering all the questions I asked him (there was over 30!) and he is great at making you feel comfortable and heard. One of the things I loved about him is he doesn’t sugarcoat things to you and explains everything in as many different ways as you need so you fully understand everything. He gives you the best advice so that you may have the best possible outcomes. He checks in with you many times before surgery to make sure you are feeling good about your decision and is always reachable to you. The day of surgery went so smoothly. He has the very best team that takes care of everything from the IVs to placing the marks so that you are the least stressed as possible. I had no complications and I am in love with the results. I am in awe everyday with my new body and it is all thanks to Dr. Lin!
I am writing this letter as a follow up to my daughter, Angela’s, Rhinoplasty and deviated septum surgery in August. Knowing that you have so many patients, I will try to familiarize you with her situation. She had, at this point in time, just completed her freshman year in college and was about to transfer to San Francisco. She came to you primarily to have nose surgery. As a parent, I always believed that my daughter was a beautiful young woman. However, my husband and I supported her in her decision to have her nose “fixed”. She had a minor bump and had been the subject of bullying in high school and middle school because of her nose. As bright and as talented as my daughter was, her confidence in her appearance and in other aspects of her life had been compromised. She had a very successful surgery at your gifted hands. You were able to repair her deviated septum but, more importantly, you were able to shave down the bump and sculpt her nose. What a beautiful job! She just graduated, Cum-Laude, from college with a degree in Public Relations/Political Science. She is staying in San Francisco and has a job with a communications firm. I recently asked her what professor made the biggest impact on her college career and she quickly replied that, “It wasn’t a professor; it was Dr. Lin”. She went on to tell me in a mother/daughter conversation that Dr. Lin “made me realize that I wasn’t ugly”. This comment tugged at my heartstrings, but I wanted you to know that you were directly responsible for restoring her confidence in herself. We are very proud of her as she begins her career. She is a happy, vibrant, and accomplished young woman. You were a huge part of her success! Hope that all in well with you. Enclosed is a picture of her at her graduation. I just wanted to extend my sincere thanks for the compassionate and skillful care you-and your team-have provided my spouse during her nose reconstruction. When I took off the bandages and the surgical bra and looked in the mirror, for the first time since my mastectomy cancer was not looking back at me. Thank you so much. I am proud and always have been to be a cancer survivor. It is like a badge of honor that reminds me when I doubt myself I can do whatever I have to. I had rhinoplasty about 6 months ago and am so happy with my results. Dr. Lin did such an amazing job I finally feel like myself and my nose looks exactly the way I want it to look. Overall I’ve had a great experience with him and his team I highly recommend!
Everything is organized and well planned out in detail. I truly recommend doing a rotation with Dr. Lin to those who are interested in the field of plastic and reconstruction surgery. Dr. Lin provided us with so many interesting cases that I don’t think we will come across all of them within just one month. You will certainly get a glimpse of the field as a whole which is very beneficial to any medical student. I gained so much new knowledge and saw many exciting procedures I had not seen before during medical school. The articles and quizzes on the platform he provided us are exceptional and valuable. At first, I was pretty nervous since he’s the program director, but Dr. Lin is very humble and patient. I indeed did have a good time, and I’m sure you will, too, for those deciding on taking this rotation!
I recommend the clinical rotation, especially for those who want to evolve in the surgical field. Dr. Lin is a great professor who is devoted to IMG education. I attended a one-month plastic surgery rotation with him. This month, we went through important plastic surgical topics, including wound healing, reconstruction of nose, breast, and limb, etc. These topics are useful and astonishing to medical graduates. He was extremely patient and knowledgeable to address all the questions I had. I really enjoyed this virtual rotation with him.
It was incredibly instructive, and Dr. Samuel Lin’s explanations of each and every point were quite clear. I’d like to work with Dr. Samuel Lin in the future.

Dr. Lin is a master at his craft, caring about his patients, and takes time to find solutions to problems that others may dismiss. He successfully fixed another surgeon’s work, and I even traveled from NY to MA to consult with him on a new area. My story: I previously had gauged ear piercings that were about 1/2” holes, and was no longer ‘using’ them as I started modeling. My ENT at the time had offered to surgically close the holes in my attached earlobes. However, his work did not make sense; he created puckered, concave pockets in my earlobes, which actually trapped dirt, and could lead to infection. I consulted with one plastic surgeon who knew my now-former ENT, mentioned they golfed together, and claimed the work was ‘superb.’ It was not. After consulting with 6 other cosmetic surgeons in and around the Boston area, I was thankful to find Dr. Lin. He not only cares about his work, but also cares about me as a patient; he understands cosmetic surgery is about how you feel – both physically, and emotionally. He took the time to assess the area, and spoke to me with compassion and professionalism. He then took the time to create a plan to fix the area, walking me through each step. He provided realistic expectations about results, and aftercare. My earlobes healed flat without issue. My earlobes are just as dainty as they were prior to piercing, and appear unblemished. People tell me they can’t believe they were once pierced, let alone gauged! Nearly 10 years later, I traveled from New York to Boston in order to work with Dr. Lin on a unique, and very uncomfortable, back scar. I had consulted with 12 different dermatologists and dermatological surgeons, none of whom provided holistically accurate information, nor care for my person. Dr. Lin provided a unique solution no one had previously suggested, and took the time to explain additional information about the skin and body about which I was ill-informed. I’m looking forward to working with him in the future, and recommend him to absolutely everyone!
