I am very pleased with the results of my procedure with Dr. Lin. From the very start, he answered all of my questions and was easy to communicate with. I felt very comfortable and safe in his hands, and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional, kind, and warm doctor.
I had Dr. Lin for two different cosmetic procedures and I would whole heartedly recommend him to anyone who is looking into getting cosmetics done. From the very beginning it was an incredible experience. He was always very helpful and patient in answering all the questions I asked him (there was over 30!) and he is great at making you feel comfortable and heard. One of the things I loved about him is he doesn’t sugarcoat things to you and explains everything in as many different ways as you need so you fully understand everything. He gives you the best advice so that you may have the best possible outcomes. He checks in with you many times before surgery to make sure you are feeling good about your decision and is always reachable to you. The day of surgery went so smoothly. He has the very best team that takes care of everything from the IVs to placing the marks so that you are the least stressed as possible. I had no complications and I am in love with the results. I am in awe everyday with my new body and it is all thanks to Dr. Lin!
I am writing this letter as a follow up to my daughter, Angela’s, Rhinoplasty and deviated septum surgery in August. Knowing that you have so many patients, I will try to familiarize you with her situation. She had, at this point in time, just completed her freshman year in college and was about to transfer to San Francisco. She came to you primarily to have nose surgery. As a parent, I always believed that my daughter was a beautiful young woman. However, my husband and I supported her in her decision to have her nose “fixed”. She had a minor bump and had been the subject of bullying in high school and middle school because of her nose. As bright and as talented as my daughter was, her confidence in her appearance and in other aspects of her life had been compromised. She had a very successful surgery at your gifted hands. You were able to repair her deviated septum but, more importantly, you were able to shave down the bump and sculpt her nose. What a beautiful job! She just graduated, Cum-Laude, from college with a degree in Public Relations/Political Science. She is staying in San Francisco and has a job with a communications firm. I recently asked her what professor made the biggest impact on her college career and she quickly replied that, “It wasn’t a professor; it was Dr. Lin”. She went on to tell me in a mother/daughter conversation that Dr. Lin “made me realize that I wasn’t ugly”. This comment tugged at my heartstrings, but I wanted you to know that you were directly responsible for restoring her confidence in herself. We are very proud of her as she begins her career. She is a happy, vibrant, and accomplished young woman. You were a huge part of her success! Hope that all in well with you. Enclosed is a picture of her at her graduation. I just wanted to extend my sincere thanks for the compassionate and skillful care you-and your team-have provided my spouse during her nose reconstruction. I have watched her regain her confidence, and spirit, with each healing day that passes. When I took off the bandages and the surgical bra and looked in the mirror, for the first time since my mastectomy cancer was not looking back at me. Thank you so much. I am proud and always have been to be a cancer survivor. It is like a badge of honor that reminds me when I doubt myself I can do whatever I have to. However before the surgery I didn’t feel like I looked the same. Not only am I proud to say I am a breast cancer survivor, but I also thanks to you look better than I did before. Dr L. helped me with the double mastectomy procedure back in 2020. It’s been more than 2 years now and I really appreciate the good work he had done.
Great result! Reduction mammoplasty changed my life. Recovery was not hard, minimal scarring. Dr. Sam did a fab job!
Had a functional breathing problem fixed with Dr. Lin. 2 years post surgery now and I am doing much better.
Dr. Samuel L is absolutely amazing!! Mastectomy where?? I personally didn’t want implants, so I opted for a more difficult procedure. When I tell you my symmetry is perfect… I mean perfect PERFECT!! I’ve got a few more steps but I am completely satisfied with my results so far!!!
Dr. L and his staff were absolutely wonderful. They were communicative and detailed in terms of the process. On the night of my procedure, Dr. L called and again walked me through the process. I have always been unsettled with the appearance of my nose. Prior to deciding to have surgery, I had tried thread and fillers on my nose. I finally took the big step and I could not be happier with the outcome. If you are weighing your options, don’t be afraid to do that consult.

I was diagnosed with DCIS breast cancer Stage 1 in October 2021 and opted for a double mastectomy two months later. I then decided to have reconstruction with silicone implants in March 2022. It was definitely a decision I regretted because I was quite unhappy with the look and feel of them. After researching other options, I was then referred to my microsurgeon, Dr. Samuel Lin, and after a consultation with him, I knew this was the surgeon I wanted to perform my DIEP Flap surgery. I am now four weeks out of surgery and could not be happier. Not only do I look better, I FEEL so much better because this is my own tissue and not a foreign body in my breasts. The surgery and recovery is a long procedure, but I would do it again in a second due to the results. I also can’t recommend Dr. Lin more, as he is the most compassionate, understanding and accomplished plastic surgeon in this specialized field. His staff is also wonderful. I’m healing well and looking forward to getting my life back on track after a devastating diagnosis of breast cancer. Thank you so very much, Dr. Lin.
I recently enjoyed the wonderful months working with Dr. Lin on both a research rotation and a virtual clinical rotation separately in plastic surgery field. Virtual Clinical Rotation: I am really grateful to Dr. Lin. Through this program, I got the chance to work with a renowned physician who is on the Mt Rushmore of plastic surgeons, learn from him, get his direction, increase my understanding of the specialty, and, most importantly, discover techniques that I had never heard of or seen before. This program provided a thorough explanation of what plastic and reconstructive surgery entails. I believe I have acquired an incredible quality of knowledge throughout my four-week rotation, and I’ve enjoyed every moment of it. Dr. Lin addressed all of our questions in a straightforward, comprehensive manner, made study interactive asking questions and listened to what we stated. I can say that he has created a superb course when it comes to instructing both novice and seasoned students. I am motivated to learn more about this fascinating profession after viewing a variety of cutting-edge procedures and realizing that there is no physical restriction that a qualified and highly skilled plastic surgeon cannot cure. My expectations were exceeded, I dare say. Research Rotation: For a novice like me, it was really informative and a fantastic place to begin my research work under the great mentorship of Dr Lin. During course I had multiple ideas which were unfortunately taken by other research fellows I was feeling desolate regarding that BUT Dr. Lin cheered me up by insisting on other ideas, ways and also, we laughed about it by doing that it relaxed my mind immensely for which I am again grateful to him. This was a highlight for me apart from that this course had provided enough materials to know about systematic review, which is the highest form of evidence. In order to advance our research endeavor, he connected with other senior research fellows at the completion and committed to stay in touch. I do strongly encourage these courses to everyone interested in research, not simply just in the field of plastic surgery.
