I am very pleased with the results of my procedure with Dr. Lin. From the very start, he answered all of my questions and was easy to communicate with. I felt very comfortable and safe in his hands, and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional, kind, and warm doctor.
I had Dr. Lin for two different cosmetic procedures and I would whole heartedly recommend him to anyone who is looking into getting cosmetics done. From the very beginning it was an incredible experience. He was always very helpful and patient in answering all the questions I asked him (there was over 30!) and he is great at making you feel comfortable and heard. One of the things I loved about him is he doesn’t sugarcoat things to you and explains everything in as many different ways as you need so you fully understand everything. He gives you the best advice so that you may have the best possible outcomes. He checks in with you many times before surgery to make sure you are feeling good about your decision and is always reachable to you. The day of surgery went so smoothly. He has the very best team that takes care of everything from the IVs to placing the marks so that you are the least stressed as possible. I had no complications and I am in love with the results. I am in awe everyday with my new body and it is all thanks to Dr. Lin!
I am writing this letter as a follow up to my daughter, Angela’s, Rhinoplasty and deviated septum surgery in August. Knowing that you have so many patients, I will try to familiarize you with her situation. She had, at this point in time, just completed her freshman year in college and was about to transfer to San Francisco. She came to you primarily to have nose surgery. As a parent, I always believed that my daughter was a beautiful young woman. However, my husband and I supported her in her decision to have her nose “fixed”. She had a minor bump and had been the subject of bullying in high school and middle school because of her nose. As bright and as talented as my daughter was, her confidence in her appearance and in other aspects of her life had been compromised. She had a very successful surgery at your gifted hands. You were able to repair her deviated septum but, more importantly, you were able to shave down the bump and sculpt her nose. What a beautiful job! She just graduated, Cum-Laude, from college with a degree in Public Relations/Political Science. She is staying in San Francisco and has a job with a communications firm. I recently asked her what professor made the biggest impact on her college career and she quickly replied that, “It wasn’t a professor; it was Dr. Lin”. She went on to tell me in a mother/daughter conversation that Dr. Lin “made me realize that I wasn’t ugly”. This comment tugged at my heartstrings, but I wanted you to know that you were directly responsible for restoring her confidence in herself. We are very proud of her as she begins her career. She is a happy, vibrant, and accomplished young woman. You were a huge part of her success! Hope that all in well with you. Enclosed is a picture of her at her graduation. When I took off the bandages and the surgical bra and looked in the mirror, for the first time since my mastectomy cancer was not looking back at me. Thank you so much. I struggled with difficulty breathing due to chronic congestion after having my son 5 years ago. Over the counter and prescribed meds, I tried everything! I finally decided to do something about it and saw ENT and I found out I had a deviated septum and enlarged turbinates in both nostrils. I couldn’t enjoy most meals or do certain exercises without feeling so out of breath. I decided to get the recommended septoplasty surgery and what a difference! I can breathe so much better now and what I struggled to smell in the past due to swollen nasal passages I can now smell without difficulty. Certain perfumes/colognes I’m more sensitive to now but all in all I’m so happy with my results. Dr. Samuel Lin took good care of me pre and post operatively. I’m excited to see how I feel come the spring/summer season.
Dr Lin performed a septoplasty, turbinate reduction as well as some work on my nasal valves to increase airflow through my nose. After 1 week recovery and a followup appt my breathing capacity has increased 10-fold. I am breathing fully with both nostrils at all times. As a result this has greatly increased my quality of life and sleep as well. The most difficult part of recovery was the first 24hrs after coming out of anesthesia. The following week was uncomfortable as I had stents in my nose until the followup appointment. Immediately following stent removal I noticed a massive increase with the airflow through my nose (immediate relief). I would recommend this surgery to anyone who has discomfort or semi-restricted breathing through their nose. No more blocked noses on cold days or trouble falling asleep/snoring. I would especially recommend Dr Lin and his team as well. He was very professional with me from the start and is clearly a highly skilled surgeon. I read horror stories online about these procedures, but experienced nothing worse than a cracking headache after coming out of anesthesia.
On October 2014, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. In November the plan was to have a mastectomy and reconstruction surgery. Two weeks later I found out that my cancer had spread into my lymph nodes. This meant that I had Stage 3 Breast Cancer. I meant with Dr. Lin and he was devastated to hear the news. He knew how nervous I was and he was very supported. You would have thought I was a family member. Dr. Lin advised me that the reconstruction surgery would be damaged due to the upcoming radiation. However once the treatment was completed, we would come up with a plan together. I met with Dr. Lin a couple of times for fat graphing. He was very honest to let me know that this may not work due to radiation. He was correct. Lastly, he suggested for a implant. We had success! This was a very long journey, but I would have not wanted another doctor. Dr. Lin is so patient and his work is meticulous! He makes his patients feel important! I highly recommend Dr. Lin! He truly cares about his patients. He never makes you feel rushed during your appointments. He takes time to answer your questions. I will always be grateful, thank you!! Charlene
I am thrilled by the results of my surgery. From start to finish the doctor and staff were professional, empathetic, gentle, and thorough. Prior to my surgery I had neck and back pain, but this surgery changed all of that. Now I can easily move around, have an easier time working out, am way less stiff and sore. I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Dr. Lin and his office! Everyone on his team was incredibly professional from reception to his amazing nursing staff! From the initial consult until my final post-op, they made sure that I was educated and comfortable every step of the way! I am sure they have many patients, but they made me feel like I was always a top priority throughout the whole process. I had surgery 2 years ago first it was a big scary but with understanding it and the benefits i will get from it it was the best decision i made Dr.Lin and his staff was great i would highly recommend him the staff is the office is amazing.
I have had two surgeries done by a different surgeon for septum/sinus/breathing issues. I wasn’t happy, so I sought out someone else to handle the 3rd surgery I needed. I am only about 8 hours after coming off the operating table for septoplasty, nasal valve repair, spreader grafts, and turbinate reduction. I am thrilled. I haven’t been able to breathe from my right nostril for years. Even despite the blood, splints and swelling, I am finally actually able to breathe some through my right nostril! I did wake up fairly crabby and in A LOT of pain (which I anticipated a surgery would be painful) but I was told then my surgery was going to be more painful than usual. I sort of had to beg for pain relief in recovery room, not sure how much I was initially given to begin with, and was sent home with (5) 5mg oxycodone after this fairly invasive procedure and I’m still in quite a bit of pain. Be prepared to awake from anesthesia in IMMENSE pain. Ill probably have to call “my buddy” and buy pills for the first time in 15 years because these 5 pills are a handful short of being comfortable for the next day or two. So, maybe on that aspect, make sure you plan ahead. But otherwise Dr Lin was so thorough with listening to me (probably more than any doctor I have ever had), explaining conditions and procedures. He is a very kind man Best Doctor I have ever dealt with. His Staff Brooke and Phyllis were also incredibly kind and helpful. Thank you so much!
